British Standards

British Standards are widely used in the UAE. There are now over 17,000 British Standard publications covering all industry sectors, with some 2,000 new or revised standards being issued each year to keep the technical content up-to-date and to encompass new materials, processes and technologies.
All European (CEN/CENELEC) Standards are automatically adopted as British Standards and a large proportion of published British Standards are also adoptions of International (ISO and IEC) Standards.

The British Business Group - Abu Dhabi provides and processes orders for British Standards as a service to the Abu Dhabi business community. The BBG holds a fully searchable and up-to-date electronic catalogue of all British Standard publications. It also holds a complete set of British Standard publications on CD-ROM and is authorised to print and sell on site licensed copies of British Standards. Through this readily available service, the BBG assists, amongst others, engineers and manufacturers in Abu Dhabi to adopt universally accepted standards.
